Mentorship
I came across this clip from the Office and thought it tied in well to the topic of mentorship we had been discussing. Erin is the receptionist in the Office, who desperately wants to be in accounting, and looks for guidance. Angela offers to be her mentor. As you can tell by this clip, although very entertaining, Angela was not the most positive mentor. She decides to turn Erin into a clone of herself, instead of helping her to realize her own potential while teaching her a skill.

Agreed. Angela also doesn't go into much depth past showing Erin how to seal an envelope properly. Love how much The Office relates to this class in demonstrating what not to do.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE The Office. Angela pretty much does turn Erin into a clone of herself especially at the end when they even dress the same. Maybe Angela could have just mentored Erin to learn more about accounting while becoming a better version of herself instead of turning her into her twin.
